Stress Management

Stress is a feeling of being under abnormal pressure. When you add illness, pain, or discomfort to everyday life coping can be challenging and lead to additional stress that can, in turn, worsen your symptoms.

Stress affects us in a number of ways, both physically and emotionally so it is important to recognise the signs of stress.

The Mental Health Foundation has lots of useful tips to help you manage stress. Learn more here.

Alternative therapies

Some people will find that CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Speech Therapy, meditation and mindfulness help alleviate symptoms.

Occupational Therapists can help with equipment to make life easier both in the home and outdoors. Some people find hyperbaric oxygen therapy, pilates, hydrotherapy pools and gentle yoga help.
